In February of this year, the Grodno Regional Court sentenced journalist Andrei Pochobut to 8 years in a high-security penal colony.

Sputnik.Belarus reports that the Supreme Court has considered an appeal to review the case against Poczobut. It is noted that it was decided to leave the sentence of 8 years in prison without any changes, the appeal was not satisfied.

The case of the journalist Poczobut was considered by the court of first instance in a closed court session.

It should be reminded that earlier Warsaw offered the Belarusian side to exchange the journalist Poczobut for the opening of the border, but the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko categorically spoke out against this proposal. He stated that he would exchange him only for Belarusian oppositionists hiding in Poland.
