US President Joe Biden has stated that the next Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) may be one of Britain’s official representatives.

“Maybe we’ll look into that,” Biden answered a related question at a joint White House news conference with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

And the media wrote, earlier, that the United Kingdom is pressing for the appointment of its Minister of Defense, Ben Wallace, to the post of Secretary General of NATO.

“NATO will approve the new regional defense and deterrence plans during the summit, which will be held in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, on July 11-12,” said Julianne Smith, Permanent Representative of the United States to NATO headquarters in Brussels.

“Specifically in terms of deterrence and defense, we will put forward new regional plans, this is very important, as we will have plans to protect every inch of NATO territory,” Smith said, yesterday, Wednesday, commenting on the program for the upcoming summit.
