The sound of hooks weaving tirelessly, back in Brittany. When the company’s fabric supplier (a workshop located in Cholet) ceased its activity, Marie Sanquer, director of the textile company “À l’aise, Breizh!”, had no hesitation: she bought nine enormous looms, and transferred all the manufacturing stages from Maine-et-Loire to Morlaix (Finistère). “We thought it made sense to be able to weave, cut, make, print and sell in our region”she told TF1, in the subject above.

Tea towels and aprons are made from A to Z in Brittany. This relocation also made it possible to hire twelve people. The brand only manufactures half of its products in France, the rest abroad. For good reason, a fabric bag costs ten cents to produce in Asia, compared to 4.50 euros in Brittany.

The Brittany region’s challenge is to relocate on its land. According to a study, the potential represents more than five billion euros in turnover and more than 130,000 jobs since 2030. To support these initiatives, the region plans to award higher subsidies to companies producing 100% locally. .
