It is a meteorological phenomenon known to move slowly and stay in one place for several days.

In some situations, it can cause heavy rain leading to flooding and other weather-related problems.

“To understand its formation, you have to look at the polar jet. It is a very intense wind current at high levels of the troposphere that circulates from west to east and that separates the cold polar air (located to the north of this current) from the warm tropical air (to the south of the current).” AEMET spokesperson Rubén del Campo told National Geographic

When will DANA arrive in Mexico?

According to specialists, this phenomenon could occur in Mexico between November 21 and 23.
