Lieutenant General Jarosław Gromadziński was nominated by the Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak for the position of commander of the Eurocorps; brigadier general Adam Rzeczkowski will take the position of the deputy chief of staff of the Eurocorps, the Ministry of National Defense announced on Wednesday.

September 1 brigadier general Adam Rzeczkowski will take the position of Deputy Chief of Staff in the Eurocorps Headquarters

Gromadziński, until now Counselor Coordinator of the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, was the first commander of the 18th Mechanized Division, which was formed in 2018.

Rzeczkowski is the head of the planning division – deputy chief of staff of the Operational Command of the Armed Forces Branches.

Eurocorps is a multinational rapid reaction command based in Strasbourg, the forces assigned to it can be used in operations under the auspices of the European Union and NATO and the United Nations – including humanitarian and rescue missions, peacekeeping and peacekeeping missions.

Established in 1992 by France and Germany, Eurocorps began operating in 1993. Soon after, both countries decided to open the unit to other countries of the Western European Union. In 2022, Poland from an associated country became one of the framework countries – influencing the structure and tasks of this multinational command.
