Mentioning that his family has a narcissistic personality, Öztürk said, “My mother was a teacher and took my brother and me to Belgium for her duty. We lived there for 5 years and my father stayed in Turkey due to his job. I was exposed to psychological and physical violence from my family. “I understood what I went through due to psychological problems. I have always needed a psychologist for as long as I can remember. I felt defeated by life. I was always nervous about life. When I grew up, I realized that the problems I experienced came from my childhood. I was raised by a narcissistic family.”
The phenomenon, which says that she suffered violence from her family for years, said, “There was no communication with my father. We did not even say ‘hello’ to each other. My parents did everything to me. Both are alive, but we do not see each other. They refuse treatment, they don’t understand the feeling. I was kicked out of the house at the age of 18. My family told me to ‘find a job’. The life I wanted to live didn’t suit them, so they didn’t want me at home. I always wanted to spend time with my friends. We never had any financial problems. To keep me entertained “They wanted me to get a job and not live the life I wanted to live. They didn’t want to look after me. When I started to respond to my family’s violence at the age of 16-17, the violence ended. After what I went through, I received therapy for years. Years later I realized that what I went through was child abuse.”
Eylul Ozturk, who also made a confession about her mother, continued her words as follows: “I learned how not to be a mother from my mother. The things I went through brought my success today. Today I asked, ‘Do you want to be successful or live in a happy family?’ “If they said that, I would throw everything away and prefer a happy family. Beneath all the awards I receive for my success are pain and the desire to be loved.”
I’ve been with troubled people my whole life because I learned to be unconditionally loved. In the therapies I went to, I learned that the problem was me. Then I met my wife Kenan. Kenan used to tie my shoes with my girlfriend and always showed his love. But Kenan’s behavior was pushing me because I was used to being humiliated all my life. I forced myself for Kenan, he healed my wounds.
“Because I was fired from home during university, I was working at night and going to school during the day. I worked as a photographer and hostess in nightclubs until the morning. Since my family’s financial situation was good, I did not receive any scholarships. When I started working in nightclubs at the age of 18, I saw a lot of scumbags, but I never did a bad job. I didn’t get involved in anything. I took care of myself because I didn’t have a family to save me.”
“There is nothing I want to say to my family. This is their truth. No matter if you say they are doing it voluntarily. It is a disease. Nothing happens to the person himself, but it destroys those around him. They saw my first child, but they did not see my second child. I called my mother and asked them to come, but they did not come.”
