Đurić was celebrating the anniversary of the death of Colonel-General Veličković

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić, attended today the commemoration of nineteen years since the death of the former commander of the Air Force and Air Defense, Colonel-General Ljubiša Veličković, in his native village of Crljenac, in the municipality of Malo Crniće.

On that occasion, Đurić laid a wreath at the monument of Colonel-General Veličković, who died on June 1, 1999, during the NATO aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

“Serbia will never forget his heroism and the sacrifice he made for the whole of Serbia,” said Đurić and added that he will launch an initiative to have a street in the capital of Serbia named after Colonel-General Veličković.

In addition to the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, the commemoration of the anniversary of the death of Colonel-General Veličković was also attended by representatives of the Serbian Air Force and Air Force, the general’s comrades-in-arms, friends and family members.
