Chris Christie, one of Donald Trump’s most vocal critics, has entered the 2024 presidential race.
The former governor of New Jersey, the Republican Chris Christiea former ally of Donald Trump who became theone of his most virulent detractorsembarks on the 2024 presidential race according to official documents filed Tuesday, presenting himself as the only candidate capable of standing up to the ex-president.
Mr. Christie, 60, known for his fighting style, registered his candidacy with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). He joins an arena already packed with right-wing wannabes in the White House, like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former Vice President Mike Pence, who is due to formalize his candidacy on Wednesday.

Chris Christie has to do a public announcement Tuesday evening in the State of New Hampshire.
In 2016, he already had ran for the nomination in the Republican primarybefore bowing and supporting Donald Trump.
At the time, he had become theone of his close advisers. But he says he broke up with him when the tycoon refused to acknowledge his defeat in the 2020 presidential election against Democrat Joe Biden.
Chris Christie again very low in the pollshas already begun to attack Donald Trump, suggesting that the Republican favorite according to opinion polls had ” fear” of debating with serious opponents.
Mr. Trump hinted that he could skip at least one of the first two debates.
“If he really cares about the country – and I have big doubts about that – then he has to go, and he shouldn’t be afraid,” Mr Christie said.
The former governor criticized Donald Trump on several other fronts, including the multiple investigations targeting him and calling it “Putin’s puppet” after ambiguous remarks by the businessman on the war in Ukraine.
