Gasoline and diesel prices up

World news

The Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy has presented the new fuel prices, which will be valid from Tuesday, June 6, until Monday, June 19.

These will be slightly higher this time. A liter of petrol will thus rise in price by three cents and will cost 1.412 euros, while a liter of diesel will be more expensive by 0.6 cents and will cost 1.432 euros. In the meantime, it will be necessary to pay 1,020 euros for a liter of fuel oil, which means that it will be more expensive by one cent.

Jure Ugovške explained to Moje finance that this time we can see a more significant increase in the price of gasoline on the Mediterranean markets, which affects the prices that are set by the government every two weeks.

In addition, the price increase was also caused by the movement of currencies. “Over the past 14 days, the euro has continued to lose value against the dollar and has been worth less than $1.07 several times,” wrote Ugovšek. “In the period under review, it was worth about one percent less than in the previous two weeks. The price expressed in euros will therefore be higher than it would be if the European currency kept pace with the US dollar.”

In the case of diesel, meanwhile, there have been no major price movements on international markets, which is why the price at the pumps has not changed significantly either.

Traders’ margins remain limited outside the area of highways and expressways and can amount to a maximum of 0.0983 euros per liter of diesel fuel and 0.0994 euros per liter of gasoline, and for fuel oil a maximum of 0.08 euros per liter.

The Croatian government also limited the margin prices for traders to EUR 0.1245 per liter of diesel and gasoline fuel.

In the last two weeks, fuel prices in Italy have also risen slightly. There, drivers pay an average of 1,827 euros for a liter of gasoline at self-service pumps (prices vary between 1,810 and 1,840 euros at different pumps), and 1,666 euros for a liter of diesel (prices vary between 1,648 and 1,684 euros at different pumps).

Compared to the average prices two weeks ago, gasoline rose by 1.2 cents per liter and diesel by 0.6 cents per liter.

Meanwhile, gasoline is also more expensive in Hungary by seven cents per liter, where the average price currently stands at HUF 575.9 (EUR 1.56). For a liter of diesel, drivers have to shell out 553.8 forints (1.50 euros) there, which is also four cents more than two weeks ago.
