To commemorate the tragic episode in which General Martín Miguel de Güemes was mortally wounded, Governor Gustavo Saenzaccompanied by his wife Elena Cornejoled the official act held in Plaza Belgrano.

After hoisting the national and Salta flags, the Governor witnessed the departure of the traditional gaucho parade to the Quebrada de la Horqueta.

The march recalls the fateful night of June 7, 1821, when General Güemes was wounded in what is now the corner of Belgrano and Balcarce avenues and from there he rode with his gauchos to the Quebrada de la Horqueta, where he agonized for ten days. , after refusing medical attention from the invaders, titles and money in exchange for surrender.

The deputy governor participated in the acts Anthony Marocco; ministers and officials of the Executive, authorities of the Argentine Army, the Police of the Province and gaucho groups, among others.
