Habeck is sure: “This could be an incentive.”
“And if the finance minister is generous, then we don’t tax this portion of income. Then there’s really something left over. This could be an incentive. And those who are tired and broken, whose backs no longer support themselves, don’t have to do it either,” says Habeck. Federal Finance Minister Lindner’s FDP, on the other hand, had called for the abolition of the zero-deduction pension at 63.
When asked about the federal government’s economic forecast, which Habeck presented on Wednesday, the Green politician was cautiously optimistic. “Inflation is falling faster, production is increasing, people have more assets again, more income that they can spend. (…) Everything together ensures that if we don’t make any mistakes now, we can get off to a good upswing.”
