The Guatemalan Migration Institute is announcing mobile days and days of extended hours at all its locations to manage the passport.
To take advantage of this opportunity you must meet the requirements for either the first document or renewal. Likewise, it is necessary to request the appointment previously online.
Please note that the rates for passports are different depending on the type of document and its validity:
- Ordinary passport (valid for 5 years) US$ 50
- Ordinary passport (valid for 10 years, only applies to adults) US$ 85
- Ordinary passport processed in diplomatic missions (Validity 5 years) US $65
- Ordinary passport processed in diplomatic missions (Validity 10 years, only applies to adults) US $ 100
- Diplomatic passport US$30
- Official passport US$30
To request an appointment you must visit the Migration web portalAnd it is important to keep the payment slip since it must be presented on the day of the appointment, as well as proof of the appointment.
The portal offers two options, schedule a new appointment or reschedule. Before doing so, you must pay the value of the passport at the bank, whether new or renewed.
- The payment slip data must be entered on the website.
- You can choose the date and time of the appointment
- The system will generate the passport appointment certificate in PDF format, you must keep it and print it.
Keep in mind that if you want to reschedule the appointment, you must do this 24 hours before the appointment you had previously assigned.
THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT
- Bring proof of the appointment printed and signed
- Present your Personal DPI Identification Document, original and a copy of both sides
- Present the passport payment receipt
- Bring a copy of the passport data sheet that is expired or about to expire, in case of renewal.
In the case of minors, the document must be managed by the parents or whoever has custody of the minor.
LikewiseThe appointment request must be managed onlineand present proof of this on the day of the appointment, as well as the payment receipt.
The minor must be accompanied by parents and the minor’s birth certificate must be presented, as well as the IPR of the responsible adults.
