The Shaar Hanegev Regional Council announced the killing of Council Chairman Ofir Lipstein during an exchange of fire with Palestinian resistance fighters who stormed the Gaza Strip settlements, this Saturday morning.
The council stated that “Ophir was killed when he went to defend the settlement during the terrorist attack,” he said.
He added, “The council’s management, staff, and the entire Sha’ar Hanegev community are saddened by his death. He is currently being replaced by the council’s deputy chairman, Yossi Keren. The council’s management and the council’s emergency team continue to manage the events.”
