They are people who would be wronged if we tried to describe them in one word. One such is Yossi Vardi, an 80-year-old entrepreneur and investor, known in his native Israel as a pioneer of high-tech companies. Around the world, as someone who, at least indirectly, made it possible for us to gather en masse on Skype during the epidemic.
According to Vardi, during his career he was lucky enough to invest in almost 100 high-tech companies. Some are successful, and some are shamed for not getting anywhere. According to him, accepting defeat is the key to success. Good ideas, he says, do not exist without good people: “You want to work with people who are nice, who know how to work with other people, it’s nice to be with them. You don’t want to spend your life with unpleasant people, that’s not a good idea. Even if you have a successful business, you still want to get something out of life. “
Although some of his ideas are now owned by corporations such as Yahoo, ebay and Microsoft, he himself is betting more on that old intelligence than artificially. As he says, Israel is also aware of this, and calls it a technological safari: “Despite different opinions and ambitions, the country acts as a united force that pushes high technology forward. Companies compete with each other, but cooperate in the development of new ideas.”
He is also lecturing about this to the participants of the first unusual Kinnernet conference in Slovenia these days. We are in a hurry for the third time, impressed by the nature, friendly people and, of course, the cuisine: “I said… What could be wrong with a country where the national dessert is whipped cream?”
The Bled cream slice won him over because he enjoys small things, he has never been bored in his 54-year long career. In the future, he is planning another visit to Slovenia, as well as a bunch of new high-tech projects.
