The parents of the four-year-old boy who died apparently from beatings were captured this Wednesday by the National Police in the municipality of Jutiapa, Atlántida.
The detainees were presented by the Police as Levis Eduardo González Mccoy, 32 years old, and María Del Carmen Gradiz García, 21 years old.
The minor, identified as Eduardo David Gonzáles Escobar, died after being emergency admitted to the Atlántida hospital in La Ceiba.
Little Eduardo showed signs of physical abuse on his face and part of his abdomen, in addition to signs of malnutrition. The first indications reveal that the child was subjected to serious abuse, but the cause of his death will be confirmed by the official forensic medical opinion.
In a video that circulates on social networks you can see how the little boy complains of pain when his stepmother bends his arm. “Maria, you are going to break that child’s arm” a man tells him in the video. And the woman answers: “I don’t care.”
