In order to reduce the use of plastic, since July, ultra-thin plastic bags will no longer be free in shopping centers, and merchants are considering charging 1-5 cents for them, LRT portal reports.

All major retailers said they have not yet decided what the final price of the bag will be, but are considering a choice between 1 and 5 cents.

You will not have to pay for bags when fresh meat and its products and fresh fish and its products are packed in them.

It is estimated that on average one Lithuanian consumes about 200 very thin bags per year.
