Jarosław Kaczyński is supposed to be razor sharp. “The measure has already changed”

World news

Jarosław Kaczyński sharpened his language towards Donald Tusk. He calls him “rusky” and “the greatest threat to Poland.” “The dresser has already changed. Enough of just responding to Tusk’s accusations, we hear in PiS. In recent weeks, the head of the PO has used a variety of cases – from the story of Mrs. Joanna from Krakow to the fire of chemicals in Zielona Góra – to score PiS.

Law and Justice is burdened by the fact that their potential voters began to perceive them as soft and naive. And that’s both in the competition with the Confederation and the head of the Civic Platform, Donald Tusk.

With the PO because Donald Tusk uses subsequent current events to attack PiS and present the ruling camp as corrupt, unsuccessful and oppressive.

– No more just replying to Tusk. We cannot wait for his next accusations against PiS. Tusk takes more stories, like a landfill fire, and hits us, and we’re just supposed to defend ourselves? You have to start attacking it yourself, an important figure from the ruling camp tells us.

The weekend is Donald Tusk’s attack on PiS for the fire of a hazardous chemicals landfill near Zielona Góra. Tusk mentioned “the stench of hundreds of unpunished illegal landfills” and “the stench of PiS corruption throughout Poland.” The PiS camp began to counter that the permission for the construction of the landfill was issued in 2014 by the starost of Zielona Góra, Ireneusz Plechan from the Civic Platform.

As our interlocutor points out, when a chemical landfill in Zielona Góra is on fire, none of the voters on a nationwide scale will understand that the decisions regarding this landfill belonged to the local starost from PO. And only the words of the president of PiS, and in the second row of the prime minister, are able to echo and reach the rank and file voters. Even the harshest, but written by other politicians of the United Right, do not have such importance.

And earlier, Donald Tusk, on the wave of media publications and social emotions surrounding the story of Joanna from Krakow (you can read more about this story here), called PiS “pure evil”. And even earlier, he spoke of PiS power as “serial killers of women.”

So Kaczynski reacted sharply. – [Donald Tusk – red.] he uses every opportunity to arouse anxiety, hatred, and make various accusations. It could be a woman’s tragedy, it could be, like last time, a fire they’re responsible for. This garbage dump in the west is the result of their rule, there are a lot of this kind of garbage dump. This is German garbage, this is the import of German garbage, this is how Poland will look like if they come to power – he thundered.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki struck in the same tone. He wrote: “Disgusting. The juggler from the PO – Cheaters Party wants to use even fire for his black PR. They will use every misfortune to divide the Poles. The stench of lies returned to Poland together with Tusk. The Polish state has been fighting the fire and its consequences since Saturday.

Kaczyński took the opportunity to deliver a tirade against Tusk’s formation. He thundered that PiS opponents want to cause a “civil war” in Poland, they want “the destruction of Catholics” and their “language is like from a bandit pit.” According to Kaczyński, Tusk is a “true enemy of our nation” who should “go to his people, to Germany.” “Let it hurt there, not here,” said Kaczyński during a summer picnic. – Remember about this red-haired, remember, because this is the greatest threat to Poland today – he added about Tusk. Sharper than before in the pre-campaign.

And this is only the prelude to tightening up the rhetoric. – Soon I will not take any more prisoners – we hear in PiS.

According to our conversations with politicians from this camp, PiS sees a threat not only from the left (PO), but also from the right flank – PiS has a growing problem with the Confederation. As we have already written in Gazeta.pl, according to the staff of this formation, the electorate at the junction of PiS and Konfederacja is beginning to flow to a more extreme party, because it considers PiS to be too soft – especially towards Ukraine. After the words of Jarosław Kaczyński, it is clear that the PiS president wants to stop this process.

One can see – in response to this risk – Kaczyński’s attempt to resist accusations of softness towards Ukraine. The president of PiS said: – There is a war going on and the question of Ukraine’s great victory is still open. And we must wish them victory. Although, of course, remember that also towards Ukraine, our party has and will continue to pursue a policy of defending Polish interests – for example, where farmers are concerned. And it will pay attention to how things are done, how things are related to each other, how our brothers from the East behave when they are here. All this will be taken into account. Remember: we help, we want to help, we must help because it is in our interest. But it is not based on the principle that one person gives and the other only takes – this cannot be the case, argued the PiS president.

Kaczyński personally began to attack the Confederation. While, for example, he briefly tried to make fun of the Third Way, he spoke seriously about the Confederation. Why? Because some hard-core right-wing voters became convinced of the future PiS-“Konfa” coalition after the elections, and they are ready to vote for the latter, more radical formation, recognizing that PiS is already too soft.

– People even say at meetings that they will vote for the Confederation, because it will enter into a coalition with PiS after the elections – we hear from a person from the ruling camp.

Kaczyński spoke about “Konfa” at the aforementioned picnic similarly to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the same time. Thus, there is also a convergence of their messages. Moreover, Kaczyński dissociated himself from the vision of PiS’s coalition with the Confederation and criticized its program.
