BRUSSELS, WASHINGTON – The Special Representative of the European Union (EU) for dialogue Miroslav Lajcak and the American envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, will be in Belgrade and Pristina on Monday and Tuesday, the EU and State Department confirmed to Tanjug.

As it was said in Brussels, the main goal of the joint visit is to calm tensions in the north of Kosovo and Metohija. The spokesperson of the State Department stated that “the US fully supports the dialogue mediated by the EU” and that “Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy towards the countries of the Western Balkans Escobar is traveling to the region to support this process”.
