Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp causes laughter at a press conference

Jürgen Klopp’s tenure as Liverpool coach is coming to an end. The coach caused another laugh at a press conference.

Jürgen Klopp, the coach of the third-place team in the Premier League, had obviously made the press representatives wait a bit in his second-to-last press conference as Liverpool coach before the league game against Aston Villa.

When Klopp finally marched into the room late with a coffee in his hand, he first apologized. One of the journalists then pointed out to him that it probably wasn’t his first late arrival. “That was twice in two weeks,” he warned Klopp.

But that didn’t leave him cold: “To be honest: Who cares?” Klopp replied with a laugh, using an expletive in the English original (Who gives a shit?). This caused a few laughs among the journalists.

Klopp then also provided an explanation for his late arrival: “I had a media appointment,” said the Black Forest native. “So one of you guys stopped me.”

Interest in Klopp is high as his term as Liverpool manager comes to an end. In January he announced his retirement at the end of the season after almost nine years. After the exit from the FA Cup and the Europa League, the hope of a farewell treble remained unfulfilled for the coach and his team.

The “Reds” also have little hope of winning the title in the Premier League with two match days to go. They are currently five points behind league leaders Arsenal and four points behind Manchester City in second place. City even has a game less than their two title rivals.
