World news

During Saturday’s speech in Krotoszyn, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki compared PO chairman Donald Tusk to Lord Farquaad, one of the characters from the animated film “Shrek”. The reaction of the opposition politician did not have to wait long.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki took part in the Family 800 plus picnic organized in Krotoszyn. During his speech, the head of the government referred to the chairman of the Civic Platform, Donald Tusk. – There was a famous series about Shrek. In this series, there was a ruler who had a philosophy that let others sacrifice themselves. Lord Farquaad. He seems to have said something like, “There will be a great battle and many of you will die, but he is willing to make such a sacrifice.” Lord Farquaad is a bit like Donald Tusk, said Morawiecki.

– He knows that people will be poverty-stricken, but he is ready to make such sacrifices that people will be poverty-stricken. This is the philosophy of liberals. Sam has fled to Brussels, but I don’t want to talk about him anymore. This liberal philosophy is something to beware of. Lord Farquaad lost in the end. This is the happy ending I want to leave you with. I believe in this happy ending, that it will be good, that despite the stumbles and mistakes, we will be able to continue our work of including everyone in the Republic of Poland. There is no Poland A and Poland B, Poland is one – he added.

Donald Tusk to Morawiecki: You’re a risk taker

“If you watched ‘Shrek’, Mateusz, you would know that Lord Farquaad was a small, gloomy ruler with complexes towards women, not a leader of the opposition. You’re a risk taker,” commented the PO chairman, Donald Tusk, on Twitter. The film “Shrek”, mentioned by Mateusz Morawiecki, was released in cinemas in 2001. It was awarded the Oscar for the best full-length animated film. Lord Farquaad in the Polish language version was dubbed by actor Adam Ferency.
