In 2021, five young men made their breakthrough on social media as elevator boys: their memes with elevator scenes found a huge audience on Tiktok. 2.5 million fans follow them on the platform today (as of April 26, 2024).
In the meantime, however, Julien Brown, Luis Freitag, Jacob Rott, Tim Schäcker and Bene Schulz have taken a new path: now they are a real boy band and are diligently releasing music. Her latest song “Parachute” including music video has just been released.
“Parachute”: That’s what the Elevator Boys’ new song is about
The track focuses on problems within a couple’s relationship. The meaning of the phrase “right person, wrong time” is particularly clear in “Parachute.” It’s about staying with a person in a state where you’re constantly trying to make the relationship work, only to be continually disappointed and dejected.

There remains a feeling of confusion and an internal struggle as to whether it is right or wrong to follow this love. The band takes a very serious tone with the song.
The music clip for “Parachute” is available on YouTube, among other places, and the initial fan reactions are positive. “Such a great song. I’m so incredibly proud of you guys,” you can read in the comments, among other things.
Another user thinks the song fits the upcoming hot season: “This song is beautiful… with such a sweet and light rhythm. It just feels like summer.”
Elevator Boys explain new career path
The Elevator Boys have only been releasing their own songs since 2023, “Parachutes” now follows “Runaway” and “Ruin Me”. In an interview with the “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland” Bene explains the group’s new direction:
“We find a completely different level for ourselves in music, on which we can present ourselves much more personally and sometimes talk about deeper topics.”
It’s also about “showing a new component of us and making the whole thing a little more personal. And of course, music is more popularly and publicly perceived as a talent than Tiktok videos“.
