President Alejandro Giammattei reiterated the request for a greater number of temporary work visas for Guatemalans as a way to reduce irregular migration to the United States.
The initiative was raised by the President of Guatemala during a telephone conversation with the US Vice President, Kamala Harris, last Friday.
In this, the bilateral agenda was reviewed, including irregular migration to the United States.
In addition, in said conversation, the president reiterated his government’s commitment to combat drug trafficking and transnational crime.
In this regard, the Vice President of the United States thanked the support in this and other issues of bilateral interest.
Besides, on World Nutrition Day, the Ministry of Health calls for maintaining a healthy and balanced diet.
On an international level, this May 18, Pope Francis called on the Feast of Pentecost to lose fear of relating to those who think, act or are simply different.
