‘Normal’ in Croatia: There are six houses with 10 apartments each and he doesn’t pay any taxes, but meaningless flat rates

World news

It is not normal anywhere in Europe, except in Croatia, for someone to have six houses with 10 apartments each and not pay any tax on it, but some meaningless lump sum. And we all know it, but no one has the courage to say it, because no one wants to lose votes. Many ministers of finance were also in favor of it, but when they became ministers of finance, suddenly they were no longer allowed to be in favor. This was announced by the SDP and HDZ governments, but not by taxes. That’s why Direkt’s reporter Ivan Skorin was very interested in what politicians thought about it before the election, and along the way he found out something interesting – the right is against it, the left is for it.
