The incident took place on the A4 motorway between Krapkowice and Kędzierzyn-Koźle interchanges. At the height of Kadłubiec, smoke was noticed in a bus with over 40 people, most of whom were students of the eighth grade of primary school.
According to the KW duty officer of the State Fire Service in Opole, the bus was already on fire when firefighters arrived at the scene. Students and their guardians are in a safe place, only the driver, who complained of breathing problems, has been handed over to medics.
At the scene of the incident, the motorway towards Katowice is blocked. This is the second case of fire on the A4 section of the Opole bus in recent days, in which schoolchildren traveled.
