Panathinaikos: Agreed with George Baldock – The 31-year-old right back of the national team is expected to be officially announced by the “clover”.
The jersey with the clover is now promoted by George Baldockwho has reached an agreement in principle with Panathinaikos to continue his career with the “greens” from next summer.
The 31-year-old right-back, who has obtained a Greek passport for the last two years (he has Greek “roots”) and has already made 12 appearances for the Greek National Team, a few days ago he verbally agreed with Panathinaikos and within the next few days he is expected to was officially announced by “trefoil”, with the start date of their cooperation on July 1st.
Baldock has been playing for Sheffield United for the last 7 years, with whom he has made 216 official appearances with 6 goals and 16 assists in all competitions. This year he has played in 13 matches with the “blades”, while over the years he has recorded 83 appearances in the Premier League with 2 goals and 6 assists.
His contract with the Sheffield club expires on June 30, however Panathinaikos moved “quietly”, while there was also interest from another Greek club, and have already signed the 31-year-old full-back, who will be their second summer signing after Nemania Maksimovich.
A move that also aimed to further strengthen the Greek element in the “clover”, with a potential Greek international footballer, who has important performances in the Premier League, the world’s top league, and will strengthen the right side of his defense Panathinaikou.
