Petro confirms why Colonel Dávila took his own life

World news

Early in the morning of this Wednesday, June 21, the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation delivered details of the autopsy that was carried out on the body of Lieutenant Colonel Óscar Dávila, and confirmed that it was a suicide that It was executed with a direct shot to the skull.

After that, President Gustavo Petro spoke out and spoke against those who insinuated that it was a homicide. The head of state specifically referred to the media that -in his opinion- “lied”, and reiterated once again that the colonel took his life due to “pressure”.

“Sectors of the press insinuated that the government had something to do with the supposed murder of the Colonel. They lied. The high government has never ordered to intercept, violate human rights, nor has it anything to hide. I regret that the pressures that the colonel suffered in the last hour of his existence have led him to such a regrettable decision », Petro trilled.

Minutes later, Petro made a slightly more challenging trill: «I tell the media that they called for yesterday’s march (June 20) with news in which they insinuated that Colonel Dávila had perhaps been assassinated by me.
What do they have to say now? How far will the slander go? How much is the damage they do to my honor worth?

The payment made by the lieutenant colonel

Let us remember that the lawyer Miguel Ángel also had a hand in this case, and he is also among the people who insinuated that something irregular happened to the lieutenant colonel so that he would take his own life, because days before he had given 50 million pesos to this lawyer to defend him in the legal process he was about to start.

For Del Río, someone who knows that he is going to end his life does not manage a defense, much less pay for it, which is why he said publicly that the Prosecutor’s Office had to answer for the case, because it was allegedly persecuting Dávila.
