President Biden assures about US support for Ukraine

World news

American support for Ukraine will not waver, we will always support democracy, US President Joe Biden said on Thursday in a speech to new graduates of the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He suggested that Ukraine’s defeat could threaten all of Eastern Europe.

“The spirit of freedom of Ukrainians will never be broken. They are incredible. Ordinary women and men fighting, giving their lives for their country and their families. American support for Ukraine will never waver. We are always on the side of democracy – always,” Biden said in a speech at the graduation ceremony of the graduates of the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

“I am asking you to think: what will happen if we falter and Ukraine collapses? What will happen to Belarus? What about the rest of Eastern Europe?” the president added. He also noted that contrary to Putin’s hopes, NATO is united in supporting Ukraine and promised that Sweden would soon join the Alliance.

Biden repeated his repeated thesis that the world is at a turning point in history, pointing to the growing power of China and transformative technologies such as artificial intelligence, which, according to the scientists he was supposed to talk to, may surpass human reason.

Speaking about China, he noted that the US does not want a conflict, but intends to compete with it, oppose harmful trade practices and pursue its interests, including building a coalition of partners in the region and beyond.

“These countries do not always agree with us, but they want to cooperate with us. They choose us not because of threats or coercion, but because of the common interest we pursue to make the world a better and safer place for everyone,” the president said.
