On the morning of this Thursday, May 9, the death of Professor Maritza Arita, who had been hospitalized for six weeks, was confirmed.

At the end of March, the renowned professor was enjoying a vacation trip during Holy Week in the hot springs of Azacualpa, Zacapa, Santa Bárbara, when she accidentally slipped and fell into a spring of boiling water.

According to the Fire Department, they responded to an emergency call to assist the woman after she fell into the boiling water. Later, she was transferred to the Santa Bárbara Integrated Hospital.

After fighting for her life during these weeks, this Thursday it was reported that Arita had died.

Maritza Arita was a very prominent teacher in San Pedro Sula, she has developed a good part of her profession at the National Autonomous University of Honduras in the Sula Valley (Unah-vs), where she has earned the affection of a good part of the community university.

Friends, family and those close to the teacher describe her as a happy woman with a big heart.

“See you soon, cousin, may God have you in his arms, I will love you forever, I will never forget the moments we spent together Maritza Arita forever in my heart,” reported a family member.
