Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a rare apology after receiving one the pensioner complained about the price of eggs. During Putin’s traditional end-of-the-year question-and-answer session with media and citizens from across Russia, pensioner Irina Akopova is shown sitting at her kitchen table and addressing the president via video link.

She complained that the eggs, chicken breasts and wings had grown rapidly. “Vladimir Vladimirovich, have mercy on us pensioners! We don’t get millions. Solve it – we have no one to turn to. I am very grateful to you, I am counting on your help,” she said, according to Reuters.
