Putin’s anti-Semitic remarks to the Ukrainian president

World news

Vladimir Putin, speaking at a plenary session at the Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, said that he had “many Jewish friends” who said about the Ukrainian president that “Zelensky is not a Jew, but a disgrace to the Jewish people.” This was reported by The Moscow Times, specifying that it was Putin’s response to the words of Channel One host Dmitry Symes [który moderował sesję plenarną z udziałem rosyjskiego prezydenta]who said the West did not understand the accusations of Nazism against Ukraine because President Vladimir Zelensky was Jewish.

Ukraine’s Chief Rabbi Moshe Reuven Asman reacted to Putin’s statement. He said that along with the whole world, he was proud of the Ukrainian president, who made every effort to protect the Ukrainian people in the face of full-scale Russian aggression. Moshe Reuven Asman said this in a comment to a UNIAN correspondent.

“Personally, I can say that I am proud of President Zelensky that he did not run away and did everything to help the Ukrainian people. And not only me. I think the whole world is proud of him,” said Moshe Reuven Asman.

The chief rabbi of Ukraine also stressed that there are no neo-Nazis in Ukraine. “There are decent people in Ukraine who defend their homeland,” said Moshe Reuven Asman.

It can be said that after the start of the “special military operation”, the Jews disappointed Putin because they did not support him.

The Russian president suffered serious defeats on the “Jewish-Israeli front.” Tens of thousands of Russians of Jewish descent left the country. Many businessmen, scientists and cultural figures with Jewish roots openly condemned the war against Ukraine. International Jewish organizations sided with Kiev. Israel also took a generally pro-Ukrainian stance.

Moreover, Moscow sees one of the key reasons for the failure of its strategy in the form of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who has achieved recognition in the West. It is therefore not surprising that Zelensky, whom Putin has long held a personal grudge, has been chosen as the main target of anti-Semitic attacks.

On the other hand, this is not surprising, because according to insiders, Putin is an admirer of Hitler, his political and ideological manifesto Mein Kampf and the Nazi ideology in general, which he has actually already built in Russia.
