The air transport gendarmerie brigade on site

The accident occurred a few hundred meters from Pouilloux aerodrome. Soldiers from the PSIG (surveillance and intervention platoon of the gendarmerie) filtered access to this field, in the hollow of the valley.

“We just went into extinction. The gendarmes had already arrived on the scene, ”explains Lieutenant Jacky Jatocha, head of the rescue operations carried out by the firefighters of Montceau-les-Mines.

According to our information, the Aquilair brand plane had taken off from the Villefranche-Tarare Portes du Beaujolais aerodrome, in Frontenas. The two victims are from the Rhône according to our colleagues from the JSL.

Multiple specialized responders intervened on site. A team of deminers had to defuse the pyrotechnic system of the parachutes in order to be able to approach the bodies.

The criminal identification cell of the gendarmerie was also dispatched to the scene, while waiting for the helicopter of the BGTA (air transport gendarmerie brigade) of Basel-Mulhouse, for the technical observations of use.

At 10 p.m. this Thursday evening, the investigators had not been able to formally identify the victims of the crash. The circumstances of this tragic accident remain to be determined.
