Russia warns of ‘deadly mosquitoes from the US’ “Clear military character”

World news

Moscow continues to wade into conspiracy theories. The head of the Russian radiation, chemical and biological protection divisions, Igor Kirillov, stated that the Americans are working on a valuable military tool, namely mosquitoes.

The United States is developing techniques for transmitting dangerous viruses by mosquitoes and is already at a “high technical level of readiness,” Igor Kirillov, the head of the Russian Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Department, told reporters on Tuesday (June 20) in an interview with The Moscow Times. To confirm his thesis, the military man referred to the alleged patent for a drone, which is intended to transport insects.

Russia. US research is ‘clearly military in nature’

According to Igor Kirillov, the research conducted by the United States has a “clearly military character”. In his opinion, the American authorities want to use “mutated” mosquitoes to fight Russian intelligence. As stated by the general, the US Department of Defense is currently looking for “optimal conditions to achieve the greatest effectiveness in the use of infected insects and blood-sucking ticks.” “The Pentagon continues to acquire vector populations whose pathogens do not spread naturally, such as Ebola, Hepatitis B, AIDS, and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. Cultures of mosquitoes infected with hepatitis B virus have already been obtained, Kirillov said. – An infected soldier will not be able to perform the combat tasks entrusted to him – he added.

US creates ‘deadly mosquitoes’? Distorted reality

The US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield referred to the reports of the head of the Russian radiation, chemical and biological protection departments. She called the thesis about “mutated” mosquitoes “splashing water without the slightest evidence”, according to The Moscow Times. “We cannot play this propaganda game just because the Russian Federation likes to invent and revels in its reality-distorting speeches,” said Albania’s ambassador to the United Nations, Ferit Hoxha.

Russia threatens: war bats, “dirty bomb”, laboratories with biological weapons…

Moscow has already spread the news, e.g. about infected combat bats and migrating birds, the “dirty bomb”, laboratories with biological weapons. Of course, the commanders did not provide any evidence to support the absurd theses. In October 2022, Russia accused the United States of patenting a drone that could “spray mosquitoes” on enemy troops.
