Russia: Zelensky on the wanted list – The president of Ukraine is wanted “on the basis of an article of the criminal code”
Russia put the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on the list of wanted persons, without explaining the reasons, as announced by the website of the Ministry of Interior.
Zelensky is wanted “on the basis of an article of the criminal code” it says in this laconic text, which does not specify anything about the charges against the Ukrainian president.
The day after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin had called on the Ukrainian military to oust Zelensky.
Timely and sufficient decisions on air defense for Ukraine and timely weapon supplies for our warriors are what we need right now to protect lives.

The list of those wanted by the Russian authorities includes many Russians and foreigners, mainly Ukrainians. In February, the names of Estonian Prime Minister Kaya Kalas, Lithuania’s culture minister and former Latvian parliamentarians were added to it for destroying Soviet-era monuments. An arrest warrant has also been issued against the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court who last year issued a warrant for Putin, accusing him of war crimes.
