Bytom – He robbed his former employer

A 46-year-old thief fell into the hands of uniformed men. In the last few weeks, he took 11 reel extension cords from the premises of the company where he worked. An amateur of other people’s property was caught red-handed by his former employer when he tried to steal cots. The police arrived and arrested the thief. During the search of the apartment belonging to the perpetrator, law enforcement officers also secured almost 400 amphetamine dealer plots. The man has already been charged. The prosecutor placed him under police surveillance. He is now facing a sentence of 10 years in prison.

Katowice – A hair away from hitting a pedestrian and a dog

The driver of the Fiat, a 70-year-old resident of Katowice on ul. Mikołowska overtook another vehicle in front of the marked crossing and almost hit a pedestrian crossing the lane with a dog. The pedestrian jumped to the side at the last moment to avoid a collision. The recording was recorded by another driver and sent to the Stop road aggression mailbox. Mikołów – Scammed over 160,000 VAT refunds

Police officers from the Department for Combating Economic Crime of the Mikołów headquarters have completed the investigation against a 49-year-old resident of the Wyry commune. The man is accused of extorting in 2017 an undue VAT refund. State Treasury losses were estimated at over PLN 160,000.

The man, running a business related to transport, has already been punished in the past. He has a record of fiscal crimes and against the credibility of documents. The investigators secured a number of documents, the analysis of which and other activities, including interviews with witnesses, confirmed the entrepreneur’s illegal activity. It consisted in entering into the company’s accounting records VAT invoices simulating the services provided, on the basis of which the VAT refund was deducted. The 49-year-old presented such falsified documentation to tax officials in his declarations.

In the District Prosecutor’s Office in Mikołów, the man heard 23 charges of attesting untruth and using documents to authenticate it. The suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges. The 49-year-old’s property worth PLN 180,000 was secured against future penalties and the obligation to repair the damage. For the crimes committed, he is punishable by up to 8 years in prison.

Siemianowice Śląskie – More charges for “found” drugs

The police had information that the 31-year-old may have hidden drugs in one of the apartments. They watched the stairwell in the block where he lived, waiting for him to appear. The man was in the company of a woman and another friend. During the activities, it turned out that the 31-year-old and the 23-year-old had bags of white powder hidden in their clothes. They admitted that it was amphetamine and claimed that they had just found it in the area of ​​the former steelworks. They were both arrested and placed in police custody overnight. In addition, it turned out that the woman was wanted by the justice system because she had 3 days to serve in prison. The court gave her the option to avoid prison provided she settled the fine, which she did. Now she faces up to a year in prison for possession of a small amount of drugs. In turn, her older acquaintance is facing a more severe punishment. He could spend up to three years behind bars.
