What already reported our news agency, in the village of Butuchany, Rybnitsa district, on the basis of the commercial dairy farm LLC “Terra Nostra”, a republican Brood of Simmental cows was held, which was visited by Prime Minister Alexander Rozenberg, Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Oleg Diligul and head of the regional state administration Viktor Tyagay.

“The brood is a kind of competition for evaluating breeding animals … The last finished lactation, genotype, exterior, constitution, expression of the breed will be evaluated,” explained Galina Kharlamova, member of the jury, head of the cattle breeding laboratory of the Republican Center for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Welfare.

LLC “Terra Nostra” is a relatively young enterprise. It was founded in 2018, when the first 28 breeding animals were purchased abroad. Since then, as the director of this agricultural company Anatoly Gritskul noted, the total herd has grown to 350 heads, including 150 dairy cows. Simmentals are a meat and dairy breed, therefore, according to the head of the farm, over 3,000 tons of milk and 1,500 tons of meat have been handed over to the state during this time.

The farm currently employs 18 people. The director especially emphasized that all processes are automated. Nevertheless, the economy needs personnel. “We are ready to provide housing for those who wish to work for us. The salaries are decent,” said Anatoly Gritskul.

The brood was attended by students of the Pridnestrovian State University. T. G. Shevchenko and Tiraspol Agrarian and Technical College named after. M. V. Frunze.

“The most important thing is that the students came. There are veterinarians here who can share their experience,” said Viktor Tyagai, head of the Rybnitsa state administration.

Initially, 10 animals were entered for the competition, but one potential member of the brood was removed: she had recently calved. By the way, in addition to the contestants, the guests of Terra Nostra LLC could see the young generation of the farm pets. According to Tatyana Frolova, her manager, there are now more than a dozen calves.

All nine contestants were born in 2015-2016. in Bavaria. Now the herd of the agricultural firm will gradually be replenished within the republic.

Animals are transported in special double-deck semi-trailers, where there is a compartment for receiving feed and drinking.

“Conditions for transportation are very comfortable,” said Natalya Varzar, epizootologist of the Rybnitsa region. We visit this farm twice a year. In the spring we take blood, vaccinate against tuberculosis and anthrax. In the autumn we have planned tuberculosis. When livestock is brought here, it undergoes quarantine measures.”

After seeing the animals through the arena, the expert commission singled out the top three, which competed for the titles of champion, vice-champion and prize-winner of the brood among themselves. All three were marked with colorful rosettes and scarlet ribbons. The winner, nicknamed Ryzhka, was also crowned with a hat with paper flowers.
