The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said that each tank will help save the lives of the military and liberate Ukrainian lands from the enemy.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has asked Australia to hand over the Abrams M1A1 tanks, which are being replaced by the new M1A2. About it reported on the department’s official twitter.
“We need Australia in the tank coalition of free nations,” the publication wrote.
The Ministry of Defense stressed that every tank that Ukraine can get from the Australian government will help break through enemy defensive fortifications. And this, in turn, will help to win back Ukrainian lands and save people’s lives.
A video with footage from Mad Max: Wrath Road, directed by Australian George Miller, has also been added. Australia received 59 Abrams M1A1 tanks from the US Marine Corps. The Royal Army is currently re-equipping with the more modern M1A2 SEPv3. However, the Ministry of Defense says that American tanks will be a formidable weapon against the Russian occupiers.
Australia is buying 75 tanks and 52 vehicles based on the Abrams tank. The US is upgrading older tanks and bringing them up to M1A2 SEPv3 level.
Recall, on May 27, the media reported that the Ukrainian military is already training on American Abrams tanks. In Germany, 400 fighters are trained at once.
On May 15, 31 Abrams tanks were delivered to the Grafenwehr training center for training the Ukrainian military.
