A first was realized in Turkey. The TAVI method used in aortic stenosis was used in aortic insufficiency. In this procedure, which was performed for the first time in Turkey and the 5th time in the world at Biruni University Hospital, the aortic valve was replaced by intervening through the groin catheter without opening the high-risk patient’s chest and without stopping the heart.
Servet Bilgin, who lives in Sakarya Adapazarı, suddenly fell ill during a visit to Istanbul about 4 years ago. It was determined that Bilgin’s aorta was ruptured from the inside after he was taken to the hospital. Prof for the patient who needs rapid intervention. Dr. Murat Uğurlucan took him into surgery. The patient returned to life after a successful operation.
After 4 years, Servet Bilgin’s heart became tired once again. Prof. Dr. Murat Uğurlucan and his team successfully performed this operation for the first time in Turkey and the 5th time in the world.
