According to Davit Galstyan, head of the “Justice” faction of the Artsakh Republic’s NA, the president of Azerbaijan formulated his last “demands” a long time ago. We are talking about the demand to “dissolve the state institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, resignations of the officials”. According to Galstyan, the problem is different.
“We have repeatedly said that the authorities of the day of RA have severed all their institutional ties with Artsakh. Today, these connections are based only on personal relations between Arayik Harutyunyan and Nikol Pashinyan, and there are no institutional relations. When after the war we talked about the need to hold an inter-parliamentary session, but no more Artsakh officials came from RA with Aliyev’s demands, all this proved that Aliyev formulated the above-mentioned demands a long time ago. Aliyev gradually brought Pashinyan to a field so that the latter would say the exact opposite of what he announced on August 5, 2019 in the Stepanakert square. When Nikol Pashinyan declared that “Artsakh is Armenia and that’s it”, he provoked a war. Already today, Aliyev’s demand was that Pashinyan declare that “Artsakh is Azerbaijan”. And Pashinyan officially recognized “Azerbaijan’s 86 thousand 600 square kilometers”, said the interlocutor, emphasizing that it was after this announcement that Aliyev got the opportunity to speak in such a way.
“When Pashinyan fulfilled Aliyev’s demand and recognized Artsakh as a part of Azerbaijan, then it is logical that Aliyev should have declared that “the authorities operating in Artsakh, the National Assembly, are illegitimate” and so on. Here, however, there is an important circumstance. when Aliyev talks about the institutions of Nagorno Karabakh, the National Assembly, the president or the government, he indirectly recognizes these institutions. In case of having an Armenian-minded government in both RA and USA, we can present to the international community in clear terms that, yes, Artsakh is a well-established state with all its state institutions. Meanwhile, unfortunately, the defeated government is not able to reap proper benefits from such omissions and false statements of Aliyev, because their goal is different,” said Galstyan, emphasizing that their goal is not to advance the independence of Artsakh and the right to self-determination.
