Prague – Today, the Chamber of Deputies will again be able to discuss laws at night. It was pushed by the government coalition at the suggestion of the chairman of the ODS deputies Mark Benda even before the approval of the program. MPs from the ANO and SPD opposition movements were against it. According to the coalition’s plans, the MPs should discuss, for example, the government’s amendment to the Labor Code, the government’s draft law on the regulation of lobbying or the law on integrative social enterprise in the initial round.

It is expected that representatives of the opposition with preferential speaking rights will obstruct the proceedings. Alena Schillerová, the chairperson of ANO deputies, spoke first. She complained that the Spolu coalition, i.e. ODS, TOP 09 and KDU, parodied ANO’s election slogan “Czech Republic, everything for you” by replacing the Czech Republic with Russia in the slogan and calling ANO representatives pro-Russian. Schiller called it a low and cowardly anti-campaign, comparing it to a hybrid war and accusing the governing coalition of hypocrisy. Karel Havlíček, the chairman of the ANO shadow government and deputy chairman of the House of Representatives and the movement, also spoke in a similar spirit.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chamber observed a minute’s silence in memory of former Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Chairman of the ODS Miroslav Mack, who died on May 1 at the age of 79.
