The rescue operation in the city of Pidgorodne in the Dnipro region, where a Russian rocket destroyed houses, has ended. 25 people were injured, five of them children.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
“Davyd, he is 6 years old, is in a serious condition, the boy is hospitalized. Denys, he is 11 years old, is also in a serious condition, hospitalized. Oleksandr, 15 years old, is also in a serious condition. Liza, 17 years old, receives outpatient treatment. Kira, she is 10 years old, has a landmine-explosive injury, is treated on an outpatient basis. It hurts to see such reports,” he said.
It will be recalled that at night, the body of a two-year-old girl Liza was found from under the rubble of a house in Pidhorodnenska hromada, which was hit by the Russians. Two two-story buildings, between which an enemy rocket hit, were partially destroyed. 10 private houses, a car, a shop, and gas pipelines were also damaged.
President Zelenskyy congratulated Ukrainians on the Trinity holiday and wished for a just peace.
“Dear Ukrainians! Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the Day of the Holy Trinity – a holiday that symbolizes the flowering of vital forces, the triumph of love and mercy,” the greeting reads.
As Zelensky emphasized, Ukrainians celebrate this great holiday in a heroic struggle against the Russian aggressor, defending the right to live freely on their native land.
“May the fragrance of the holiday surely give joy and grace to everyone who supports our army with sincere prayer, and the unshakable faith and determination of everyone in their place – a just peace to Ukraine,” Zelenskyy wished.
The Trinity, which this year is celebrated on June 4, is considered one of the most important holidays in Christianity, along with Christmas and Easter.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the enemy continues to focus its main efforts on the full occupation of Luhansk and Donetsk regions. During the day, the occupiers launched 23 attacks, all of which were repulsed by units of the defense forces.
The enemy launched 7 rocket and 25 air strikes, launched about 20 attacks from rocket salvo systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
“Unfortunately, there are victims among the civilian population, private residential buildings, educational institutions, and other civil and administrative infrastructure have been damaged,” the message reads.
In the direction of Marinka, the enemy carried out offensive actions in the area of the city of Marinka, our defenders repelled all 16 attacks of the enemy. At the same time, the enemy launched an airstrike within the Maryinka settlement. He carried out artillery fire on the settlements of Gostre, Maryinka, Pobyeda in the Donetsk region.
The air force of the defense forces struck 10 airstrikes in the areas where the personnel of the Russian army were concentrated during the day.

Today, the Russian military shelled the Kharkiv region once again, two women were killed.
According to the investigation, the occupiers shelled the city of Vovchansk. As a result of enemy strikes, two civilian residents aged 62 and 74 were killed. Residents’ houses were damaged.
Around noon, servicemen of the Russian army shelled the village of Pishchane, Kupyan district. A 58-year-old woman was injured, and at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Russian military launched a rocket attack on the outskirts of Chuguyev. According to preliminary data, it was an RP D-9 MA (air-to-surface) missile. An enemy missile hit a forest massif, no one was injured.
We will remind, today the Russian military shelled Zolochiv, Kharkiv region, from artillery. A 40-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were injured.
Today in Kharkiv, a monument was opened to the children who died as a result of Russia’s armed aggression.
The monument consists of sculptures of a boy and a girl flying over a block of granite representing the explosion. Figures of children in the form of angels with burnt wings are about 160-170 centimeters tall each. The block is made of two continuous blocks of natural labradorite stone from the Ukrainian deposit. The total height of the entire composition is about 5 meters.
The monument, the author of which is the sculptor Mykhailo Yatchenko, was installed next to the building of the Kharkiv Regional Palace of Children’s and Youth Creativity.

Legion “Freedom of Russia” will hand over Russian soldiers captured in the Belgorod region of Russia to Ukraine.
“We transfer the captives to the exchange fund of the Ukrainian side,” reads a message on the Legion’s telegram channel.
The fighters added that the governor of the Belgorod region, Gladkov, did not come to pick up the prisoners.
“The entire All-Russian government, represented by Governor Gladkov, was frightened and sat in cozy offices, leaving their people in our captivity. Now we have finally understood how rotten and cowardly the authorities are at the helm, it is pointless to communicate with them. As they say, scoundrels,” the legion added.
Also today, the “Russian Volunteer Corps” and “Freedom of Russia” announced their entry into the suburb of Shebekin, Belgorod region.
