Parents of Australian brothers Jake (30) i Callum Robinson (33) who were killed in Mexico they traveled to Ensenada to identify their bodies.

Deborah and Martin Robinson they experienced something that no parent should have to go through. They were filmed leaving the Office of Pathology where they positively identified the bodies of their children.

Jake, Callum and their friend Jack Carter Rhoad (30) disappeared on April 27 while they were surfing in Ensenada. They were found in a well in northwestern Mexico in a decomposing state, and were later found to have bullet wounds to the head. It is believed the men were attacked while trying to defend themselves from the attempt theft.

Mexico’s attorney general said that the robbery of car tires went wrong and added that there was a possibility that a drug cartel was also involved.

The brothers and a friend were killed with one bullet each in the head. Two Mexican men and a Mexican woman will be charged in the coming days with the murder, but authorities now believe more people may be involved.

Surfer friends took to the streets to pay their respects to their lost friends, joined by local residents.

“We want justice and security” they shouted in solidarity with the murdered tourists. Some carried banners saying “Australia, we are with you!”

“We are really sorry for what happened. We are good people, you are good people. We love you,” said one of the local residents who took to the streets.

Later, the surfers symbolically said goodbye to the murdered trio by forming a circle on the boards in the sea at San Miquel beach, which the victims visited shortly before their deaths.

“They were asking for tacos. They were so happy to be here, to learn about our culture. They asked about our traditions and music,” said a woman who met the brothers while they were at the beach last weekend.

They had their whole lives ahead of them. The Robinson brothers often traveled around the world visiting good surfing spots, and last year they were in Plitvice and the Adriatic.

Callum, who was like a “big koala” full of life, bringing joy wherever he appeared, and Jake, who came to celebrate his birthday with his brother before returning to his job as a doctor in a hospital, came to Mexico hunting high waves in search of an adventure that turned into a terrible tragedy.

Their parents will now take them home for their final resting place.
