They warn of the definitive dismissal of the police chief who was discovered with cocaine in Santa Cruz

World news

Lieutenant Colonel Marcelo Rodrigo RC could be permanently discharged from the police institution, if his irregular conduct is proven due to the alleged transfer of more than 40 packages of cocaine in his vehicle in Santa Cruz, the vice minister of Citizen Security, Roberto Ríos.

“If this type of behavior is evident, it warrants a definitive dismissal from the institution,” explained the authority in contact with the press.

The Puerto Suárez Police Chief was caught – in an interdiction operation – transporting more than 40 packages of cocaine among his belongings.

When he was discovered, he attacked a police officer and fled from the checkpoint of the Pozo del Tigre community, in the Santa Cruz municipality of Pailón, on the Bioceánica route.

The police officer is being investigated for trafficking in controlled substances, criminal association, conspiracy and is now a fugitive from Bolivian justice with an arrest warrant against him.

Ríos reproached the high-ranking officer for having circumvented the controls, putting the lives of his comrades at risk.

“We cannot allow them to stain the credibility of the institution,” the authority emphasized and stressed that operations were activated to capture the police officer.

The Public Ministry and the Special Force to Fight Drug Trafficking (Felcn) raided the lieutenant colonel’s home and seized documentation and a vehicle that will be micro-vacuumed.
