USA: Donald Trump on the Biden administration and the reference to the “Gestapo”
About six months before the US election, Republican ex-Pres Donald Trump further escalated his accusation of the instrumentalization of justice by the administration of Democratic successor Joe Biden, which compared to the Gestapo —the security of the Nazi regime in Germany—, American media reported yesterday.

A statement that was immediately condemned by the White House and the team running Joe Biden’s campaign. “Instead of echoing the disgusting rhetoric of fascists, dining with neo-Nazis and fueling bankrupt conspiracy theories which claimed the lives of brave police officers, President Biden is rallying the American people around our shared democratic values and the rule of law.”commented White House spokesman Andrew Bates.
Joe Biden’s team had previously blasted the Republican candidate’s statement with a statement: “Trump’s campaign is all about himself, his rage, his revenge and his lies.”
What Donald Trump said about Joe Biden and the “Gestapo”
Addressing an audience of executives and sponsors of the Republican party, the faction’s candidate for the presidency last Saturday accused the Democrats of having created “Mr.Gestapo government”also succeeding against the prosecutors who are handling criminal charges against him, according to US media.
The remarks were made during a 90-minute speech at his property in Mar-a-Lago, Florida (southeast), a recording of which was given to US media by a donor to his campaign. He faces four separate criminal charges, including of the fraud case for which he has been on trial since April 15 in New YorkMr. Trump keeps complaining the “witch hunt” of the Democratic administration against him, with the intention, he says, of eliminating him from the race in view of the presidential elections in November.
The White House has repeatedly denied any involvement in the prosecution of Donald Trump.
