Two cities in the neighborhood on the list of the best to spend your retirement

World news

If you dream of living in retirement in one of the great old cities of Europe, the Usnews portal has made a list of the best cities for retirees.

Taking into account the available budget, the cost of living and the affordability of real estate, a list of the top ten cities in Europe where it is best to spend your retirement has been made.

When creating the list, the option of entertainment, recreation, and health care was taken into account, which is an important topic for many retirees, reports N1.

These are the 10 best cities to retire in Europe:

– Tavira, Portugal

– Annecy, France

– Ljubljana, Slovenia

– Cascais, Portugal

– Paphos, Cyprus

– Bay of Kotor, Montenegro

– County Clare, Ireland

– Paris, France

– Popoli, Italy

– Valletta, Malta

For Kotor, which is surrounded by high mountains on one side and the sparkling Adriatic on the other, the Usnews portal writes that in addition to its stunning landscape, it is also known for the Old Town of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and perhaps the best-preserved medieval city in the Mediterranean.

This is a lesser known, but friendly, safe and pleasant corner of Europe, comparable to the stone villages of Italy, but much more accessible. The old Mediterranean port of Kotor, surrounded by city walls, belonged to Venice between 1420 and 1797, so the Venetian influence left its mark on the city’s architecture.

They wrote about Ljubljana that it is located in the heart of Central Europe, between Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. They point out that it is mostly a mountainous country with 50 kilometers of Mediterranean coast.

Also, Ljubljana is called the heart of Slovenia, which has beaches and ski slopes. Ljubljana, they write, is a modern city with all the conveniences of 21st century life, but at the same time it has managed to retain the charm of a small town. Local growers bring domestic products to the city every day in wooden boxes, Usnews points out.
