Ukraine denounces an agreement with Belarus on guarantees in the field of pensions.
On May 29, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law on the denunciation of the intergovernmental agreement with Belarus “on guarantees of the rights of citizens in the field of pensions.” The initiator of this decision was the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
With the adoption of the law, the contractual and legal framework in the field of social security will be brought into line with its “national interests and modern realities of foreign policy.”
According to the press service of the country’s parliament, the document was adopted on the basis of Belarus’ support for Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, which “is a violation of the principles and norms of international law, the goals and principles that guided Ukraine when concluding this international treaty.”
