Ukrainian forces conducted an offensive in several directions last week. However, as Ukraine’s deputy defense minister Hanna Malar announced, the biggest blow is yet to come.

Hanna Malar, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, on the night of Monday to Tuesday (June 20) announced in social media that the struggle at the front was difficult. Russia is doing everything in its power to stop the offensive.

Ukraine: ‘We must be ready for a hard battle’

“The enemy will not give up his positions easily. We must be ready for the hard battle that is going on right now,” Hanna Malar wrote on Telegram.

“The ongoing offensive has several goals, and the military is fulfilling them all. It works as it should. The biggest blow is yet to come,” added the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian army retakes more territories

Hanna Malar also confirmed that the Ukrainians recaptured Pyatykhatky in the Zaporizhia region from the hands of the occupier. During two weeks of fighting in the Berdyans and Melitopol directions, the following towns were also liberated: Novodarivka, Lewadne, Storozheve, Makariwka, Błahodatne, Łobkowe, Nieskuczne.

“In total, the (Ukrainian) subunits in the Tauride direction advanced deep into the enemy’s (areas controlled by) to a distance of up to 7 km. Areas of 113 square kilometers have been liberated,” she wrote on Telegram.

Russia increased shelling in the Bakhmut area

Last week, Russia “redeployed additional forces and increased the number of shellings” in the area of ​​Bakhmut (Donetsk Oblast). “In general, the intensity of fighting in this (eastern) direction decreased, but fighting continued; 41 combat clashes took place and in some sections our forces moved forward,” Hanna Malar announced on Monday (June 19). The occupiers continued their attacks in the following directions: Lyman-Kupian, Avdiiv and Marjin. As the deputy minister assured, Ukraine “has not lost a single meter of land there”.
