Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an evening video address on Friday that every meter of territory wrested from Russian occupation forces was “of great importance” for the Ukrainian counter-offensive.
In the recording, Zelensky emphasized how important the “forward movement” of the Ukrainian troops is for the ongoing counter-offensive.
“Every soldier, every next step, every meter of Ukrainian land reclaimed from the enemy is of great importance”
– added Volodymyr Zelensky.
Ukrainian troops continue counter-offensive operations on three sections of the front and have some territorial gains, the American Institute for War Studies (ISW) reported in the latest reports.
These activities are ongoing in the western part of the Zaporizhia Oblast, where one town has been liberated. In the eastern part of the Zaporizhia Oblast and the western part of the Donetsk Oblast, control over six villages was restored at the same time. In Donbass, the progress of Ukrainian troops has been noted on the flanks of Bakhmut, where counterattacks are being carried out on Russian positions to the north, south-west and north-west of the city.
