What happened to Cameron Robbins? School graduate jumped off the ship in the Bahamas, still missing World news

New footage showing the moments before Cameron Robbins (18) from Louisiana jumped off a boat into the ocean and disappeared without a trace has surfaced on social media.

The young man jumped without a life jacket, and shocked friends with whom he was celebrating his last day of high school tried to advise him to hold on to the buoy. But it appears to have floated off in a different direction, away from the buoy, before disappearing into the darkness, the Daily Mail reports.

Ended the search

The US Coast Guard and numerous agencies searched the ocean waters for days in search of the missing young man. Late Friday, the U.S. Coast Guard officially called off the search. Witnesses said that around 11:30 p.m., the young man jumped into the sea from the Blackbeard’s Revenge ship for a challenge game.

At the time the young man from Louisiana jumped into the sea, the ship was near Athol, an uninhabited island located northeast of Nassau. Robbins was a baseball star, and he was on the boat celebrating his high school graduation with dozens of seniors from other Baton Rouge high schools.

The students arrived on the island just a few hours before the trip and stayed at Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau, one of the parents confirmed. After Robbins jumped, the ship and its crew members attempted to locate him along with multiple rescue services. During the search, more than 325 square kilometers were searched.
