The municipal court sentenced two 31-year-olds to five days in prison because during the commemoration of the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Vukovar they disturbed public order and peace with loud, illegal shouts and hand gestures, the Vukovar-Srijem police reported on Thursday
Due to the violation of the Law on Offenses Against Public Order and Peace, the two defendants, normally residing in the area of Koprivnica-Križevačka County, were brought to the Municipal Court in Vukovar with an indictment. By court decision, they were detained for five days, and they were handed over to Osijek Prison.
The Vukovar-Srijem Police Department is continuing its criminal investigation into the incident.
During this year’s Column of Remembrance in Vukovar five days ago, led by HOS members, a group of people chanted the Ustasha salute “Za dom spremni”, while raising their right hands in the air.
