World news

– Where are the promised PLN 770 billion? Should people work for a bowl of rice? – a resident of Kościerzyna asked Mateusz Morawiecki during the election meeting. There was an uproar in the room, and the prime minister started talking about the opposition.

On Saturday (July 1), Mateusz Morawiecki visited the inhabitants of Kościerzyna (Pomeranian Voivodeship) as part of the “Kept Word Route”. Among PiS supporters there were also people who decided to hold the head of government to account.

Kościerzyna. Mateusz Morawiecki answers what happened to the promised money

One of the residents of Kościerzyna asked the Prime Minister where the promised PLN 770 billion were, and whether the head of the government still follows the principle that he promises a lot first and then forgets about these promises. There was an uproar in the hall. The host calmed the crowd down.

– I am glad that there are opponents and supporters here – replied Mateusz Morawiecki. – Half of this money is already in Poland, and the other half is blocked at the explicit request of the opposition. And you should ask the second question to the party you seem to be seconding. The PO used to promise twice and keep the promise once – he replied.

The man also asked the Prime Minister if people are to work, I will not say that obscene word you used [podczas niefortunnej wizyty w restauracji „Sowa i Przyjaciele” – red.]for a bowl of rice? – Let me remind you, during the Civic Platform, how much did you work for per hour? 2, 3, 4 zlotys per hour! Such job offers. What was the minimum wage? 1750 zlotys. Now it is at least doubled, countered the head of the government.

Where are the promised PLN 770 billion? There was a campaign, money blocked

In 2021, the campaign “PLN 770 billion for Poland” was launched, which cost the government PLN 10 million. So far, we have not received the money – the European Commission still has not accepted our National Recovery Plan and has blocked EUR 36 billion in non-repayable grants and loans.
